Two Must-See Exhibitions

March 11, 2021

The presence of thousands of migratory shorebirds is one of the environmental features that makes Western Port a wetland of international importance.  To celebrate these special birds and to highlight the epic migration they make each year – from Western Port to Siberia – two exhibitions have recently opened in Mornington. The Overwintering Project: Westernport and The Overwintering Project: Wall of Wings. The Overwintering Project is an environmental art project that raises awareness for our migratory shorebirds and their habitat.  The Wall of Wings features art works by local school students.

Both exhibitions are free and people of all ages are welcome! The Overwintering Project: Westernport will be on exhibition at the Mornington Peninsular Regional Gallery from March 6 – May 23 2021, Civic Reserve, Dunn’s Road, Mornington. Open 11am – 4pm Tuesday to Sunday (closed Mondays and Public Holidays). Entry is free. mprg.mornpen.vic.gov.au The Overwintering Project: Wall of Wings is at Oak Hill Gallery, 100 Tyabb-Mornington Road. Open every day, 11 am – 4 pm
